Mixology FAQs

Do you provide the alcohol?
We do not provide the alcohol however, we do provide complimentary beverage consultations to help you calculate how much alcohol you will need to purchase based upon the number of expected guests.We can also design a custom beverage menu unique for your event!


How many mixologists/staff will I need?
Suggested staff:
- Up to 75 guests – 1 mixologist
- 75-150 guests – 1 mixologist, 1 cocktail server
- 150-250 guests – 2 mixologists, optional cocktail server
- 250+ guests – 3 or more mixologists, 2 cocktail servers


What will the mixologist wear?
Our mixologists typically wear black dress pants and black dress shirt for your event. For events held outdoors, the attire may be adjusted appropriately for the environment. We will discuss further at the time your event is booked.


How many hours of service are included? Can I add more hours?
We are very flexible and we can customize our packages to your event. Our standard packages include four (4) hours of service.


What will the mixologists bring?
All of our packages include the basic bar set up and supplies such as: front and back bars, shakers, bottle/wine opener, speed pours, drink stirrers, napkins, napkin caddy and fruit garnishes.


Will I be charged for set-up and breakdown?
Set-up and breakdown is a complimentary service and included in all packages. Forty-five (45) minutes for set-up and thirty (30) minutes for breakdown. Our pricing is based on the contracted hours of service for your event.


How far in advance should I reserve the date for my event?
We encourage at least 4-6 weeks prior to your event date to allow enough time to prepare and order additional supplies if necessary. Although we will do our best to accommodate all requests!


Who is responsible for my guests and their alcohol consumption?
Our TIPS certified mixologists are educated on serving alcohol in a responsible fashion. Background Solutions Entertainment reserves the right to refuse service if we feel a guest has had too much to drink. However, the host is ultimately responsible for their guests and their actions.


Is there a deposit to reserve a date and time?
There is a 50% deposit to reserve our services which will be applied to the total cost.


Is gratuity included? How do we tip the mixologist?
You may allow our mixologists to place a tip jar on the bar area or you may provide a cash gratuity directly to the bartender at the end of the event. A standard gratuity is estimated at $2.00 per guest.


What is your cancelation policy?
If the event is in cancelled within 72 hours of the contracted start time, the deposit will not be refunded.


What forms payment do you accept?
We accept cash, checks, money orders and all major credit cards. Payments should be made prior to the start of the event.
